“From a Long Lost Manuscript Come the Ancient Tibetan Rites for the Fountain of Youth – The True Tibetan Rites Revealed.”
Our Peak Flow co-founders first encountered the “5 Tibetan Rites” and Peter Kelder’s mysterious book The Eye of Revelation: The Ancient Tibetan Rites of Rejuvenation at our 2021 Wim Hof instructor certification retreat.
The back story, in a nutshell, goes like this.
A century ago, author Peter Kelder’s chance encounter with a mysterious “Colonel Bradford” (not his real name) led to an ongoing conversation between the two, and ultimately, to “Bradford” teaching the “5 Tibetans” to Kelder and now, the world through Kelder’s book (first published in 1939).
Neither yogic movements nor breath exercises, the 5 Tibetan Rites are “body tuning” protocols.
If done regularly, Kelder claims, one can improve one’s health, wellness, and vitality, and even prolong one’s lifespan.
See the protocols above.
Aim for 7 rounds of each of the 5 “body tuning” movement to start, and build up to 21 rounds.
Observe your breath while practicing the “5 Tibetans,” but don’t try to control your breath in any way, as Kelder suggests.
Instead, focus on each movement as a meditation, observe your breath, and enjoy the 10 minute experience.
“Even though you may not care to become mystics at this time, you can throw many years off your ind, your attitude, and your feelings, so start at once,” suggests the mysterious Colonel Bradford in Kelder’s conclusion of The Eye of Revelation. “Any effort you out forth will be rewarded, I can assure you. I have given you nothing but simple Rites and practices because the simple things will bring you health, youth, virility, and success when nothing else will.”
We regularly practice the 5 Tibetan Rites, and Lindsey and Rob introduce the 5 Tibetan Rites as one of many elements in our Peak Flow breathwork adventures. Enjoy them, and celebrate both the mystery and the promise.
